Puzzle Fundraiser!

Since we have announced that we are adopting, it has been awesome to hear from so many family and friends who have committed to praying for us as we begin this journey! What a gift it is to know that that our family, this process, and our sweet little one are being covered in prayer! To those praying for us we want to say THANK YOU! This is the greatest need we have as we eagerly anticipate welcoming another child into our family!

Some of our family and friends have asked how else they can support us as we begin this process. Aside from your prayer support, we are also fundraising to cover some of the costs of our adoption. To be honest, adoption is expensive... and the big numbers we see on our fee sheet can be a bit intimidating! Throughout our adoption process we will pay for things like agency fees, a home study, background checks, fingerprinting, psychological evaluations, adoption training/education, visas, passports, flights.... and the list goes on. All of these expenses add up to somewhere between $30,000 and $40,000. We are budgeting and saving where we can and we hope to apply to grants to help cover some of these costs, but we are also planning a few fundraisers.

Our first fundraiser is a PUZZLE FUNDRAISER to help us pay for our home study. The home study is the first major set of documents, medical reports, evaluations and interviews that we send in to our agency.

So here are the puzzle fundraiser details:

***We have a 500 piece world map puzzle that we are excited to put in our child’s room when it is complete! 

***A donation of $10 “buys” that puzzle piece. You can buy as many pieces as you want. 1, 5, 20… whatever you decide to give! (So for example, a donation of $100 = 10 puzzle pieces)

***We will write your name (or whatever names you want) on the back of your puzzle piece (or pieces).

*** When the puzzle is complete we will frame it with glass on each side and put it in our child’s room so he/she can always be reminded of who was a “piece” of getting him/her home!

There are 3 ways to give if you'd like to "buy" a piece(s) to the puzzle...

1) Give to us in person.

2) Mail a check or cash... let us know if you need our address!

3) Give online. We have set up a One Mission Fundraising account where you can give online and the money goes directly to us. Click on the tab at the top of our blog labeled "Give To Help Bring Our Child Home" and you will be directed to the online page. If we sell all the pieces to this puzzle we will have our home study fee fully covered! This is a big first step of the process! Plus, when our home study is done we will be able to apply to many more grants (most require a completed home study).
