So many praises!
Merry Christmas friends and family!
We have some quick updates as well as prayer requests and praises to share!
Since our last blog post we received Article 5 in less than a month and then NOC in less than a month! We also completed our home study update and our dossier and sent all of that documentation to India! So it has been a whirlwind 2 months with so much progress forward in our adoption process! We are truly praising God for that!
We are now to the point where we wait for our daughter’s SAA (Specialized Adoption Agency) in India to get our dossier (a HUGE packet of paperwork we compiled) in the mail. Once they receive that they will look it over and use that to register us in court. Lord willing, all our documents will be set to go and we can be registered and get our first court date! The court process to make our little girl officially a Mulder can be anywhere from 2 months to 6 months or more. So much depends on the state our daughter lives in, the judge we are given and our court advocate in India. We may be asked to send more paperwork, show up in court in person or via Zoom or we may pass court the first time with nothing extra needed. Court is very unpredictable in India so we would love your prayers for a judge who is favorable towards our case and moves it along quickly so we can have our daughter home soon.
After we pass court, Lord willing, we will wait for something called Article 23, as well as our daughters birth certificate, her passport, and visas for us. Then TRAVEL!! We cannot believe we are getting so close! We were actually just connected with our agency’s travel coordinator and given a huge packet of information regarding travel to look through. Although it feels a little overwhelming, it is a good sign that we are finally getting close to that point in the process!
Especially during this holiday season our hearts our aching to hold our little girl and have her join our family. She recently celebrated her 2nd birthday and that day came with very mixed emotions. We are so thankful for another year added on to her life and at the same time it was very hard to not have her home to celebrate. A sweet friend dropped off a gift of hair bows and an ornament with our little girls name on it. Seeing those things was a wonderful reminder that she is coming home someday! We are trying to keep that perspective and soak up the time we have in this season with our two boys, preparing our hearts and home for her arrival.
We have some specific praises and prayer requests below and we would love for you to be praying along with us!
PRAISE GOD:
⁃ for so much movement in such a short time! With COVID and so many processes and government offices not working at full capacity, we fully expected long delays in the last few steps. It has been the exact opposite and things have moved faster than we imagined! Such a huge praise!
⁃ for another year of life for our little girl! For her health, her continued improvement on medical reports, and for protection over her as we wait to bring her home.
⁃ for our daughters SAA that is so amazing from what we can tell. They seem to love and care well for the children and they are always quick to respond to our adoption agency’s emails or calls. They’ve also been wonderful at sending updates on our little girl and keeping us in the loop. We are so thankful for them!
⁃ For amazing caseworkers at Lifeline who pray with our family, encourage us as we wait and handle so many little details to make this process as smooth as possible.
⁃ for our boys excitement about welcoming a sister! They are already her biggest fans and constantly bringing her up in prayer and conversations. They cannot wait to have her home and we are so excited to watch them be big brothers!
⁃ for paperwork sent off! Sending our dossier to India after so much work getting it together felt amazing!
⁃ for sweet friends and family who have cheered us on, prayed for us, sent texts of encouragement, etc. We have the BEST support system and we are so thankful for that!
PRAYER REQUESTS:
⁃ for a judge who is favorable towards our case and who sees the urgency of getting our little girl home to a family. Pray that he/she’s heart would be softened to our case and he/she would give us written court orders quickly so we can apply for article 23 and a passport!
⁃ pray for our daughters SAA as they care for her. Pray for provision for their needs, health for the caregivers and a love for the children.
⁃ pray for our daughter. Pray that she would continue to grow and her health continue to improve. Pray that God would fulfill His purposes through her for however long he chooses to keep her in India. Pray that already God would be preparing her heart to join our family.
⁃ pray for finances. We have been so overwhelmingly blessed and amazed at Gods provision financially through this process! Through fundraisers, grants, tax returns, extra side jobs, and random giving the Lord has shown us that when we are obedient to where He leads us, He provides for our needs. We have everything we need financially up until the point of travel. This is a huge praise!! We have a $6000 grant towards our travel as well as some savings so we are only short about $3000-$4000 at this point to have travel completely funded. We hope to apply for some grants to help cover some of those final costs. Would you pray with us that God would provide the last needed funds? Truly, we are in awe at how good He has been to provide every step of the way and we trust that He’s already got this area covered.
Thanks so much for praying along with us and rejoicing with us! We have so much to praise God for! Adoption has been such a wonderful blessing to our family already as we have watched God work in amazing ways. We cannot wait to see what 2021 brings. Lord willing, we are looking forward to welcoming home our little girl! We cannot wait to share her picture with all of you! Thanks again for your sweet encouragement, prayers and support! This adoption has truly felt like a team effort from the beginning! Thankful for the amazing team God has surrounded us with!
