An Unexpected Shower Of Blessing

Image
Due to the business of the past two days, this is the first time we have had the opportunity to write about the events that have happened! On Wednesday, we woke up in Bangalore, packed our bags at our hotel and then ate breakfast . We hopped in a taxi to the airport, about an hour away, to catch our flight to Belagavi, our daughter's hometown. We would be arriving in Belagavi around 3:00 PM, so we wondered if there was any possibility of seeing Keerti that evening. However, we had previously decided it would be best to wait until Thursday, when there was a special placement ceremony scheduled. Our drive to Bangalore airport was beautiful! When we first had arrived in Bangalore, it was night time, so we couldn't see anything! But now, it was wonderful to see more of that portion of India that we were in!  Our flight to Belagavi was on time and relatively uneventful. It was a tiny airplane--which for those of you who know me--Brady--I don't do well flying, so I was quite nerv

Answered Prayers!

Last night Denae and I slept miserable. I think our bodies are trying to adjust to India time versus Michigan time. Or maybe we had a lot on our brains and hearts as today was to be a big day for us in India. Today, we were scheduled to have our passport appointment at 10:00 AM. This was the fifth passport appointment for what typically only takes one appointment and is very smooth. Five times the director of our daughter's home traveled 10 hours by train to get to this office. Four times the director was told to come back with something different or more paperwork. The poor director was feeling understandably frustrated and finally we were asked to come so we would be available to help with any signatures, questions or documents in person at the appointment. This was a special circumstance as usually the adoptive parents don’t come to the passport office and everything can be done very simply by the director. Would it be different this time now that we came? That is what we wonder

Today (Monday) was such a life-giving day for us! We probably won't update the blog this much; however, I felt it was necessary to do so since it was such a great day and we had some extra down time! We left our hotel around 11:30 AM in search of some food and we were planning to visit the Bangalore Palace after getting food. I thought McDonalds would be a great idea to try out, but Denae wasn't hungry for chicken. And we both weren't feeling Subway. So we went with what we know--Dominos pizza!  We took a tuk-tuk, also known as a "rickshaw" to Dominos. That was a very fun experience! Us in the tuk-tuk A tuk-tuk While we were walking to Dominos, we noticed a sign that said, "Bible Society Of India." That immediately peaked our interest as we were curious to what it was. We ate Dominos and then decided to check out the Bible Society. And we were so thankful we did! The Bible Society of India began 210 years ago and they are responsible for publishing Bible
